Nervous-system-informed support for trauma, anxiety, emotional overwhelm and relationship patterns.
I offer online Somatic Experiencing® sessions for adults in the United States, helping clients explore the connection between emotions, relationships and nervous-system responses in a gentle, collaborative way.
For U.S. clients, I offer Somatic Experiencing® sessions as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). These sessions are not represented as psychotherapy or counselling provided under a U.S. mental-health licence.

A body-oriented approach to working with stress and overwhelming experiences.
Somatic Experiencing® is a body-oriented approach that brings gentle attention to sensations, emotions and nervous-system responses.
Rather than focusing only on talking about what happened, sessions may explore how experiences show up in the body—such as tension, activation, numbness, disconnection or feeling overwhelmed.
The work unfolds gradually and collaboratively, with attention to building awareness, capacity and a greater sense of regulation.
Support for what your nervous system is carrying.
Somatic Experiencing® can provide a space to explore patterns and experiences that continue to show up emotionally, relationally or in the body.
Our work may include attention to anxiety and chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, difficult or overwhelming experiences, attachment and relationship patterns, grief and loss, emotional disconnection, life transitions, and feeling stuck in familiar responses.
Sessions are individualized and paced collaboratively, with attention to what feels manageable for your nervous system.

Anxiety, chronic stress, activation, shutdown and difficulty settling.

Attachment patterns, boundaries, connection and recurring relational responses.

Numbness, grief, transitions and feeling disconnected from yourself or your emotions.
Somatic work, from the comfort of your own space.
Sessions take place securely online, allowing you to engage in Somatic Experiencing® from a private and familiar environment.
We may slow down and notice sensations, emotions, impulses, patterns of activation or settling, while staying curious about what your nervous system is communicating.
There is no pressure to tell your entire story or revisit difficult experiences before you feel ready. Sessions are collaborative and paced with attention to your comfort, capacity and individual needs.

I’m Allison Cordner, a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and extensive professional training in trauma, attachment and experiential approaches.
My style is warm, engaged and collaborative. I believe meaningful change happens when we feel safe enough to become curious about what is happening within us—not only intellectually, but emotionally and in the body.
In Canada, I am also a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Counselling Supervisor. My work with U.S. clients is offered specifically through my training and designation as a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner.
Somatic Experiencing® may appeal to you if you’ve spent a lot of time understanding your experiences intellectually, but still notice familiar reactions showing up in your body, emotions or relationships.
You may find this approach helpful if you often feel overwhelmed, on edge, shut down or disconnected, have difficulty settling after stress, or notice yourself repeating patterns even when you understand where they come from.
You don’t need to know how to “do” somatic work. We begin wherever you are, with curiosity and at a pace that feels manageable.
