When You Don't Quite Feel Like Yourself

You don’t have to feel like yourself to deserve support.

Perimenopause and menopause can bring changes that extend far beyond physical symptoms. You may find yourself feeling more anxious, irritable, overwhelmed or emotionally sensitive — sometimes without understanding why.

Even women who have always felt confident, capable and emotionally resilient can find this transition unexpectedly challenging.

You might recognize yourself in:

  • Increased anxiety, irritability or emotional overwhelm
  • Mood fluctuations or feeling less resilient to everyday stress
  • Changes in sexual desire, intimacy or connection with your partner
  • Sleep difficulties that leave you feeling emotionally depleted
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself, your body or your sense of identity
  • Old emotional wounds or relationship patterns resurfacing
  • Navigating changes in family roles, career, aging or self-esteem

You may be entering a new chapter of life, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Therapy offers a place to reconnect with yourself, understand what’s changing, and discover what you need now.

A Deeper Kind of Therapy

Understanding what’s changing doesn’t always make navigation easier.

You may understand that hormonal changes are influencing your mood, sleep or stress levels, yet still feel overwhelmed, disconnected or unlike yourself.

You might recognize that your reactions feel stronger than they used to, but struggle to settle your nervous system.

You may notice changes in intimacy, confidence or relationships, even when you understand why they are happening.

Insight is important. But sometimes understanding alone isn’t enough.

Through Somatic Experiencing®, AEDP and attachment-focused therapy, we explore not only what you’re thinking, but what you’re feeling emotionally and experiencing in your body.

Together, we create space for greater emotional regulation, self-compassion and connection — helping you navigate this transition with more confidence and ease.

My approach goes beyond insight alone.

I integrate Somatic Experiencing®, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and attachment-focused therapy to support emotional well-being, nervous system regulation, and meaningful connection during perimenopause, menopause, and midlife transitions.

MEET ALLISON

A Place Where You Don’t Have to Have It All Together

I work with people who are often very good at functioning — even when things don’t feel good underneath.

My style is warm, direct and deeply relational. Therapy with me isn’t about sitting back while you analyze yourself for another hour. We pay attention to what is happening in the moment — in your thoughts, emotions, relationships and nervous system — so that change can become something you experience, not simply something you understand.

I bring together Somatic Experiencing®, AEDP, attachment-focused and experiential psychotherapy to help you work with patterns that may have been difficult to shift through insight alone.

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what’s wrong or what you want to work on.

You can simply arrive as you are.
