Relational & Process Based Therapy

What Is Relationally Focused Therapy AEDP

AEDP is a contemporary therapeutic approach that integrates principles from various evidence-based therapies, focusing on the relational dynamics between therapist and client. It's rooted in the understanding that our relationships and interactions play a crucial role in our mental health and overall well-being.

Who Is This Therapy for

At its core, AEDP emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship itself as a healing tool. It draws from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and emotion-focused traditions but is uniquely centered around the processes that occur within the therapeutic relationship. This includes how clients form relationships, how they navigate interpersonal dynamics, and how these patterns influence their experiences and behavior.

Freedom From Trauma

Therapists employing AEDP aim to create a safe, empathetic, and genuine connection, fostering an environment where clients can explore and understand their relational patterns and emotional processes. It's about meeting clients where they are, understanding their unique context, and working collaboratively to foster growth and change.

Often traumatised people either feel nothing or they feel rage, and often the rage is expressed in inappropriate ways. With beginning to get a sense of what healthy aggression feels like, the extremes of numbness and rage can begin to give way to healthier middle ground.
