It’s a new year and thus a new chapter in our lives. This year I would like to focus on family, my own and others. I am dedicated to documenting the love between families that I photograph. Much of that stems from experiences and loss’ in my life that have made me want to recreate the bonds I never had. A lot of families have difficulties, challenges, differences, it is a normal part of life hear on Earth. It is everyone’s purpose to try and mend our differences and become awakened to our similarities. Seeing that we are all the same is what will empower us all and the generations to come.
On that note please enjoy this portrait session of MY OWN family- or a least a little sliver of it. It was a challenge to do as it was Christmas day and in Cornwall at my grandparents home. Working with family is probably the hardest thing to do for a photographer (yes even we need our own pictures ). Below is my husband, children, brother, Aunt and her husband, son and doggy and of course the matriarch and patriarch- my grandparents.
The images that I am in are clearly not by me but by my brother who fought with my complex camera to get me in on this special portrait series.
It took borrowing an SUV to transport my lighting gear and a 9 foot tall backdrop roll to make this happen but it was well worth the extra effort.SHARE
